Ms Yelena Rodríguez Trujillo

Executive Director, CCPAP

Ms.Yelena Rodriguez Trujillo was appointed to the IFAC Compliance Advisory Panel in January 2019. She was nominated by Colegio de Contadores Publicos Autorizados de Panama, and is currently a member of the IFAC Membership Committee. Mrs. Rodriguez has more than 32 years of experience in accounting, management and administration, internal and external auditing, setting processes and control, and establishing strategic plans and assuring compliance. She has been Chief Operating Officer and the Executive Director for the CCPAP for the past decade. She is currently and external consultant on Strategic Planning, Assurance and Business Continuity.

Liaison for Panama with IFAC, for the logistics and coordination of the 2010 CReCER event, was responsible since 2010, for the creation, development and updating of the Panama Action Plan for the CCPAP, in front of IFAC. Was also responsible as liaison with other international funding agencies. She was Director at various Inter-American Accounting Seminars; as well as Director of Several National Congresses of Accountants in Panama. Mrs. Rodriguez is the Technical Director for the IX Cumbre de las Americas-Panama 2020. Mrs. Rodriguez is co-author of the book “Origin, Development and Foresight of the Accounting Profession in Countries of the American Continent, published by Universidad del Valle, Colombia, in junction with the Interamerican Accounting Association. 

Mrs. Rodriguez is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and IIA-Panama Chapter since 2007. She is also Vice President of the Ethics and Professional Practice Commission of the Interamerican Accounting Association (AIC), where she was reelected for three consecutive periods since 2011. She is also the National Director of the AIC National Coordination Committee representing Panama. Mrs. Rodriguez is a member of ALCAPA-Alianza de Calidad de Panama, a member of the Regulatory Committee of the Panama Quality Assurance Program; and pioneer in the establishment of the Panama Quality Assurance Program for the country.

Previously, Mrs. Rodriguez was a corporate internal audit manager for Central America and Caribbean for Pricesmart Inc., administrative/compliance manager for business contracts/controls at Telefonica Moviles Panama, and a senior auditor for KPMG-1992. Mrs. Rodriguez was awarded for Y2K compliance processes at large telecommunication companies, as a member of the T3 Strategic Team to implement new lines of business, and as a member of the implementation team. She was also honored in 2015 by Brystol Who's Who. Mrs. Rodriguez studied Business Administration and Accountancy at the University of Panama, qualified as CPA in 2000. She obtained an MBA in Strategic Planning in Universidad Interamericana de Panama and received a certification from the Managerial Development Program of ADEN-School of Business (Academic Support of Francisco Vitoria University and the University of San Francisco, US). Mrs. Rodriguez is also a certified internal auditor with a degree from Universidad Católica Santa María la Antigua MA and has completed graduate studies on higher education from Universidad Especializada del Contador Público Autorizado.
